Ubisoft has revealed their third quarter sales, ending December 30, were up 8.8 percent to €652 million ($857 million). The increase in sales are due to the strong sales of Assassin's Creed: Revelations and the Just Dance franchise. Just Dance 3 shipped seven million units, while the franchise on a whole shipped 13 million units during the quarter. Assassin's Creed: Revelations shipments reached seven million.

For the nine months of sales ending December 31, Ubisoft reached a total of €900 million ($1,183 million), up €39 million for the same period a year ago. Ubisoft expects sales to reach between €1.05 billion and €1.08 by the end of its fiscal year.

"Our unique positioning as a creator of brands for both core and casual gamers enabled us to capture new market share in the console games segment in 2011 while significantly growing our online business," said Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft's CEO. "In fiscal 2012-13, we will start to capitalize on the large-scale investments we have undertaken more than three years ago, with the ramp-up of our offering for core gamers and notably a strong comeback into the major segment of shooter games."

"We also expect to see sustained growth in our online and digital revenue during the year," Guillemot continued. "In the longer term we have solid opportunities for continued growth and profitability thanks to the arrival of the new generation of consoles and our plans to extend to all our titles the benefits and economic models of online games."

Ubisoft has also announced that Far Cry 3 will launch on September 6 and Assassin's Creed III is set to release on October 30.

They have really improved over the years.
Those two franchises are really strong in the market so I'm wondering what new franchises will come in the future as a factor from this.

2012 is going to be a big, big year for Ubisoft. The only thing that might dent their high expectations would be a poor return on their Wii U launch title investments, of which there are supposed to be two or three.
