George R.R. Martin: 'Iíve Consulted on a Video Game Out of Japan' - News

George R.R. Martin, A Song of Fire and Ice author, revealed in a blog post about the end of the HBO Game of Thrones TV series he has consulted on a video game out of Japan.

"I’ve consulted on a video game out of Japan," said Martin.

"As a producer, I’ve got five shows in development at HBO (some having nothing whatsoever to do with the world of Westeros), two at Hulu, one on the History Channel," he added. "I’m involved with a number of feature projects, some based upon my own stories and books, some on material created by others.   There are these short films I am hoping to make, adaptations of classic stories by one of the most brilliant, quirky, and original writers our genre has ever produced."

Is he going to do everything humanly possible EXCEPT finish the damn books?

Selling out on the people who bought his books and made it popular enough for him to get to where he is. People will unfortunately remember him as the dude who didn't finish his greatest work when he could have a Toilken legacy. Same with J.K Rowling, I don't know why they are intent on destroying their place in history for a quick buck and some social brownie points.

Winds of winter should be out relatively soon, going by what he has been saying about it
recently. The last book probably won't take quite as long with game of thrones being over and the story likely starting to get a little simpler as the cast gets cut down in size. Also Tolkien barely finished anything to do with middle earth the vast majority was released after his death.

If WoW is done, we could see ADOS by 2030 if he doesn't take on any more shit or at least the early 30's. A

Almost didn't recognize you without your Geralt avatar. But he still might finish the books someday.

Haven't seen latest season yet, but as long as his books don't disappoint, all the blame can fall on the directors of the tv show and he will get a pass. Though still will be hated for taking like 10 years between releases. Total BS. Hate hearing him saying he is like doing 5 tv shows, video games, ect. Just finish the damn book series you are known for.
Feels like whenever I see the name Peter Jackson advertised for a movie. No one cares. Besides the Lord of the Rings movies, anything he touches is trash.

Selling out? What does that even mean? The man has been involved in television and film production since the 1980s and believes it saved his career when he was unable to sell his literary efforts. Before AGoT, he was more well known for his TV work than anything. The idea that he's "selling out" by doing what he's always done makes no sense.
