PUBG CEO Wants Game on All Platforms, But Sony is 'Very Strict' on Quality - News

The developer of PlayerUnknown’s BattlegroundsPUBG Corp, wants the game on all platforms, however, that won't be happening for sometime.

CEO of PUBG Corp Chang Han Kim said that he wants the game on the PlayStation 4, however, Sony is strict when it come to the quality of games and does not do early access.

"As it’s going to be an exclusive title on Xbox One for some time, we’d like to focus on completing the Xbox One PUBG for now," said Kim. "If we have the opportunity, the final goal would be to launch the title on every platform.

"Early Access on Steam and Game Preview on Xbox One are like pre-release, so they don’t have a restriction on quality. However, PS is very strict about this. There were cases where a game took 6 months more to launch even when it was already completed. We are still in the stage of learning the console development environment and console gamers’ taste. We need to think about other platforms after evaluating and completing the Xbox One version first."

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is currently available for the Xbox One and Windows PC.

Maybe the mean, by quality, finished games. Otherwise, that statement would be nonsense.

They even promoted the game on their official Youtube Channel so at that point..

Do you have any example of paid Betas on PSN? Because essentially this is what Sony is blocking. Because they allow unfinished games on the temporary Betas, and there are some broken games, but I can't remember a single paid permanent Beta.

Wants game on all platforms but doesn't talk about the Switch. I'm sick and tired of people that think Nintendo doesn't make "real consoles". C'mon, it's not the Wii era anymore!

I feel you bro, but lets be real, PUBG doesnt even run "ok" on Xbone... we know deep down that the switch cant handle those graphics... Switch was not meant for that kind of games anyway.

I agree Knitemare. I don't think the Switch can handle it (not because it's too demanding, but because it's terribly optimized). But if you don't want to put a game on the Switch, don't say you want it on "all platforms". Say you want it on the PS4 too.

Yeah it was a poor use of words...

They want to put on all platforms, but if a platform can't hold the game there is nothing they can do.
Let's not pretend it's always the fault of the dev.
Sure the game run bad on X1 and PC, but the scale of the game would be hard on Switch even if perfectly optmized.
Also he said they couldn't put the preview on PS4 because of the quality control, they didn't say they could or not on Switch, but does Nintendo have a preview program for they to release PUBG?

This is policy Sony needs to pull back on. An incomplete game can have more value than a complete game that is junk. It appears MS simply allows this for notable projects that are likely to be completed. Allowing early access for any game could be exploited which was evidently a problem on Steam.

Looking at the lack of quality control on PSN, I wish that were true...

It's funny all the complaining about it being a lie on Sony quality control, it isn't a Sony Rep saying it, it's PUBG CEO complaining they can't release because Sony doesn't allow for paid Betas (because they allow early access and free betas)
