Here is an overview of the partnership:

"A game based on beloved Marvel heroes, The Avengers project is being crafted by Crystal Dynamics – longtime developers of the award winning Tomb Raider series – in collaboration with lauded Deus Ex developer Eidos-Montréal.

"The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise. Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come."

More information will be announced in 2018.

I am so sad for Eidos montreal and Crystal Dynamics, from making awesome games with total creative freedom to being dragged down with Marvel IP is so sad. They were great developers and people are tired of avengers, so the developers won't be able to achieve their full potential. They both could be naughty dog caliber developers if they were given room to grow.

I'm tired of crappy Avengers games. This one should be good.

Totally, another great developer who will be wasted on a goddamn superheroe game.

I don't understand the negative reactions, this is Marvel's answer to the Rocksteady Batman games.

Square seems like an odd pick for Marvel considering how slowly they tend to release projects....

Squenix's Western studios seem to be pretty quick. It's just the Final Fantasy guys who are slow.

I agree but it looks like it will be their western studios making the games not the japanese ones that take forever to make one game

"Featuring a completely original story" - this alone makes this better than the Marvel movies.

As long as it has the majority of the Avengers characters playable. Unlike MUA2... I'm all for it.
