Nintendo Wants 100M People to Sign Up for My Nintendo Worldwide - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 03 February 2016 / 5,471 ViewsNintendo's new loyalty program, My Nintendo, launches next month and the company has revealed in an earnings briefing that is wants 100 million people to sign up worldwide to the service.
"Since this number should be considered as a check point, we will make efforts in order to achieve this number at the earliest possible timing," said Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima. "We believe that the bigger the size of My Nintendo, the greater the enjoyment and value we will be able to provide to our customers."
My Nintendo will offer discounts, a points system, and automatic downloads for digital purchases of Wii U and 3DS games. Nintendo plans to use it for managing friends lists, saves through the cloud, and more.
My Nintendo debuts in March in 39 countries.

They haven't sold 100 million units of hardware this generation. That means they expect a lot of people to engage through smartphones.
Okay so obviously the 3ds will have to b e a big part of t his. Outside of that I am stumped.
Seems ambitious, but considering the install base of mobile titles, and the interactivity between platforms, it might not be as off the wall as it seems.

I was a fan of Club Nintendo. Got a lot of stuff from it. I'll consider signing up. However, do they truly think they can reach 100 Million? I'm pretty sure they don't even have that many fans...
