PS4 and Xbox One vs PS3 and Xbox 360 - Aligned Sales Comparison - September 2015 Update - Sales

The gap has grown for four straight months in favor of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In the latest month it grew by 141,812 units. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One lead by a combined 13.50 million units.
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in their first 23 months sold a combined 27.44 million units, while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have sold a combined 40.94 million units.

Still going up, at this rate the combined sales of the PS4 and Xone will be higher than their 7th gen counterparts.Which means the consoles are far from dead. Which is a very good thing.
Nintendo is reaching the hit and miss state and don't want to compete with the twins so the commercial dissapoint in numbers of the Wii U are not an indicator of the healthy of the industry.
The fact PS4 has almost the same units sold for PS360.
Nintendo sadly failed hard. It's the reason why people say "consoles are gonna day".
Like with the PS3 and Xbone 360, the Wii U was a hit-or-miss, and it missed. It's gonna help nintendo improve upon their mistakes.

Why does this graph not include Wii and WiiU?
Would be a real comparison between 7'th vs. 8'th gen ;)
