Evolve Free-to-Play This Coming Weekend on Xbox One and PC - News

Turtle Rock Studios' Evolve will be free-to-play this coming weekend on the Xbox One and PC. Unfortunately, there's no free-to-play weekend for PlayStation 4 owners.
Xbox One and PC owners will be able to play the base game for free all weekend. The base game includes: four monsters, five modes, 18 hunters, and 19 maps.
All Evolve players will be able to download a variant of the Meteor Goliath character, which comes with a new look, effects, and attacks. Season 1 DLC will also be free on Saturday, while Season 2 will be free on Sunday.
Anyone who purchases a copy of the game after the event will be able to carry over their progress.

The game should have been free to play to begin with and all extras, special unlucks and crap as paid. People might continue playing it for one.
I noticed you have done the majority of the Evolve articles, either no one else wants to do them or you chose to do them. I don't know which one is worse.
Well, my comment didn't post, likely because I used a link that slammed my comment right into the spam detector. Well then. Part of this article is slightly incorrect. The PS4 version will also be getting the free DLC packs to try this weekend. Just not the base game. That bit is restricted to PC and Xbox One. My source is the official post on the Evolve website.
A slight correction to the article: although the base game will only be free to play on Xbox One and PC, the DLC packs will be free to play on the PS4 as well. Kind of a weird way to do things, but I mean, the PS4 gets something if you already own Evolve.

Uhhh... Why no PS4?
I'm guessing Microsoft struck this deal, which would make sense as to why it's PC and Xbox One only.
