Nolan North Confirms The Last of Us 2 - News

Voice actor Nolan North has confirmed the existence of The Last of Us 2.
This is another in a series of leaks by North on Metrocon 2015 panel. During the panel North said "I know they're doing The Last of Us 2", in response to a question about Naughty Dog's current projects.

I'm glad about this, but the question is where can the story go? The only thing I can think of is that he military catches word of Ellie's immunity somehow, and they come looking to exploit her. Either that, or a prequel/ spinoff, something I don't think ND's teams should waste their time with. Maybe another team could do a prequel/ spinoff, like how People can Fly did Gears: Judgement, but I doubt it would even come close to the quality of the original.
Personally I'd like The Last of Us grow into a quality franchise that takes its time with each installment, but each game is a different location with different characters rather than just sequels.
