Mojang to Close Down Scrolls - News

by VGChartz Staff , posted on 29 June 2015 / 2,636 Views

Minecraft creator Mojang is closing down its other online game, Scrolls.

Scrolls is a strategy card game that was released late last year on PC and Android, and an iOS version was due to launch later this year. The status of that iOS version is currently unclear.

The upcoming Echoes expansion will be the last update for the title, which means that Mojang once again only has one ongoing title to its name - Minecraft.

Scrolls will continue to be available for purchase, however, and the "proceeds will go towards keeping Scrolls playable for as long as possible". At present the servers are scheduled to be closed down on 1st July, 2016.

2 billion for a single game. What an amazing success story Minecraft became thanks mostly down to its fantastic community spreading the word and turning it into one of the biggest franchises in gaming today.
