Deep Silver has announced that Risen 3:  Titan Lords - Enhanced Edition from Piranha Bytes will be making its way to the PlayStation 4 digitally on August 21st, 2015.  Additionally, it will be getting a retail release in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain, and Nordic countries.

“Cult developer Piranha Bytes, creators of the classic Gothic and Risen series, is set to release their first game on the PlayStation®4 platform with Risen 3: Titan Lords - Enhanced Edition. The Enhanced Edition offers several improvements, including:

  • Graphics level comparable to the “Ultra” settings on the original PC release
  • Higher resolution textures
  • New post-processing effects like broken depth-of-field and HDR bloom
  • All-new volumetric cloud system
  • All updates and DLC including the “Adventure Garb”, “Fog Island”, and “Uprising of the Little Guys”

Risen 3:  Titan Lords was previously released on the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 platforms.  There is no word on whether the Enhanced Edition will be coming to the Xbox One.

Has there ever been a good Risen game?

Can't say there has been, I've watched the series the past few years, seen TB's and AJ's reactions and with the overall reviews and general look of the games themselves they tend not to look or perform well.

Hearing "ultra" settings being akin to the PC version is a bit of a giveaway that the game wasn't much to begin with.

That depends on the player. There have been people that enjoy it and theres people who dont. A bit like souls series.

The first one was pretty okay. The sequels, not so much.
