Capcom's CEO, Kenzo Tsujimoto, has pledged to hire 100 new developers every year for the next five years. The announcement was made in an open letter to Capcom's shareholders and is part of a five year plan to strengthen the company:

"Our goal is to further strengthen marketing strategies for (1) downloadable content (DLC), (2) mobile contents, (3) online operations, and (4) brand contents... This process will reflect an understanding of what consumers want and what types of products have become hits. From now on, I plan to hire at least 100 software developers every year to give us an even more powerful development workforce. Furthermore, I want to establish clear targets for these developers so they can help make Capcom even stronger."

It follows a number of announcements last year that various arms of the company would be restructuring, which included halving its European workforce and cancelling a number of unannounced games.
