Sony Hires Screenwriter for the Metal Gear Solid Film - News

Sony Pictures has hired writer Jay Basu to write the feature film for the video game franchise Metal Gear Solid, according to Deadline.The film is being produced by Avi and Ari Arad. Jordan Vogt-Roberts is expected to direct the film.

Basu is represented by production company 42's Josh Varney in the UK and UTA's Jason Burns in the US. Basu has also been hired by Universal Pictures to relaunch their classic monster movies.

Looking at this guys IMDB page, he has written 4 movies previously, and none of them were particularly well received.
Well, I wish him and the film luck. God knows we're all still waiting on a great film adaptation of a video game.
