Job Simulator is First SteamVR Game Announced

"Ever since the Oculus Rift Kickstarter, we’ve been fervent believers in the potential of VR and ecstatic about the forthcoming widespread consumer adoption of such a transformative new medium," said developer Owlchemy Labs in the announcement post. "When the first Oculus development kit was released, we saw the potential and knew it would play a very important part in the future of Owlchemy Labs."

"We were lucky to have access to an existing title (Aaaaa! For the Awesome!) that we’d built, which was an incredible match for the Oculus DK1, so we set out to build Aaaaaculus!, one of the first fully-featured VR games. We learned an incredible amount throughout development and the more we explored the fertile design-space that VR affords, the more we wanted to move into this new space."

"It’s thrilling to play a part in the upcoming explosion of consumer VR and we’re proud to add another amazing opportunity to the list by being one of only a few select developers building content for some of the most incredible VR hardware in the world."

"Our friends and family have been incredibly supportive by putting up with our vaguebooking and cryptic tweets about 'the future.' It’s been so hard to keep this stuff to ourselves and can’t wait to talk all about it this week!"

"Seeing our company logo along side Valve’s in the HTC announcement keynote is surely a pivotal moment for Owlchemy Labs and we simply cannot wait for folks to experience Job Simulator at GDC."

This news comes on the same day HTC announced they have been developing a VR headset, the Vive, with Valve. It uses the SteamVR technology.

So, the first thing they offer me on VR is to send me back to work after I get home?
