Report: Microsoft Working on Game Streaming Service Called Arcadia - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 16 December 2014 / 3,535 Views

Microsoft is working on a game streaming service called Arcadia, according to a report on ZDNet. This service replaced the now dead 'Rio' streaming service that Microsoft showed off in 2013.

A source has stated that Microsoft might allow Arcadia users to stream Android apps and games on their Windows devices. This falls in line with what Microsoft's Operating Systems Group has talked about in the past about allowing Android apps to run on Windows devices.

This isn't the first time there has been rumors about Microsoft creating a game streaming service. In August of this year it was known that Microsoft was working on a project called DeLorean that helped lower the latency in cloud gaming. In September 2014 it was reported that Microsoft was testing to make Xbox games work in a browser.
