Mining for Charity Event on Twitch this Weekend, Raising Money for the Immunity Project - News

Twitch is holding a charity event this weekend called Mining for Charity. More than 20 Minecraft Twitch casters will be participating in helping to raise $75,000 for the Immunity Project.

The Immunity Project is a nonprofit organization developing an HIV vaccine that will be given away to the world for free. The team of scientists from Berkeley, Stanford, and Northwestern has completed animal studies. The money raised will help keep the team in the lab with the ability to improve "the vaccine formulation until human clinical trials can begin."

Mining for Charity runs from August 22 to August 24 on the Mining for Charity channel, as well as individual casters, including . The event starts at 10 am Pacific each day and ends at 10pm.
