There was a glitch in the system that was fixed this week, which is why so many games got a big boost in pre-orders. There have also been new comparison charts created, as well as adding the PlayStation 4 version of Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 to the charts. The Xbox One version of those games will be added once Microsoft announced a release date.
There are two games in the top 40 to be in their final week: Madden NFL 25 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (PS3).
11 games have 200,000 or more pre-orders, up from 10 last week, and the top 21 has 100,000 or more pre-orders, down from 23 last week. Four games added 20,000 or more pre-orders, down from six last week and seven added 10,000 or more, down from 10 last week.
Games in Final Week Before Launch
Madden NFL 25 (X360) added 56,688 pre-orders for a grand total of 244,021. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 500,000 to 600,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 1.8 million units and 2.2 million units lifetime in the US.

Madden NFL 25 (PS3) added 35,431 pre-orders for a grand total of 192,499. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 425,000 to 525,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 1.6 million units and 1.8 million units lifetime in the US.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (PS3) added 11,479 pre-orders for a grand total of 128,628. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 175,000 to 225,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 500,000 units and 700,000 units lifetime in the US.
Major Performers in the U.S. – Week Ending September 1
Saints Row IV (X360) sales are expected to drop to around 120,000 units in its second week on sale. The PlayStation 3 version is expected to drop to around 60,000 units.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist (X360) sales are expected to drop to around 65,000 units in its second week on sale. The PlayStation 3 version is expected to drop to around 30,000 units.
Disney Infinity (X360) sales are expected to drop to around 28,000 units in its second week on sale. The Wii version is expected to drop to around 25,000 units. The PlayStation 3 version is expected to drop to around 20,000 units. The Wii U version is expected to drop to around 12,000 units.
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified (X360) sales are expected to drop to around 15,000 units in its second week on sale. The PlayStation 3 version is expected to drop to around 10,000 units.
Due to the release of Madden NFL 25 Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sales are expected to remain relatively flat week-on-week, while the other platforms are expected to drop slightly.
Other Hot Games – In Order of Release
Grand Theft Auto V (X360) added 98,586 pre-orders, up from 91,697 last week, for a total of 1,477,043. As a comparison to the game with the biggest opening in gaming history, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, GTAV is tracking 88,839 pre-orders ahead at the same number of weeks before release.
Grand Theft Auto V (PS3) added 61,315 pre-orders, up from 40,097 last week, for a total of 962,839. As a comparison to the game with the biggest PlayStation 3 opening in gaming history, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, GTAV is tracking 193,700 pre-orders ahead at the same number of weeks before release. The game is four weeks away from launch in the USA, September 17, 2013.
Battlefield 4 (X360) added 4,834 pre-orders, up from 4,118 last week, for a total of 287,619. The game is 132,000 pre-orders behind of Battlefield 3 (X360). This is up from 101,000 pre-orders behind the previous week. The game is 10 weeks away from launch in the USA, October 29, 2013.
Battlefield 4 (PS3) added 3,006 pre-orders, up from 2,424 last week, for a total of 153,955. The game is 68,000 pre-orders behind of Battlefield 3 (PS3). This is up from 59,000 pre-orders behind the previous week. When you add in the PlayStation 4 version of Battlefield 4 the two versions are way ahead of Battlefield 3. At 12 weeks before release it is 200,000 pre-orders ahead. The game is 10 weeks away from launch in the USA, October 29, 2013.
Call of Duty: Ghosts (X360) added 17,756 pre-orders, up from 16,603 last week, for a total of 447,737. The game is 424,000 pre-orders behind Black Ops II (X360). This is up from 386,000 pre-orders behind of Call of Duty: Black Ops II (X360) the previous week. The game is 11 weeks away from launch in the USA, November 5, 2013.
Call of Duty: Ghosts (PS3) added 9,383 pre-orders, up from 6,881 last week, for a total of 224,089. The game is 279,000 pre-orders behind Black Ops II (PS3). This is up from 264,000 pre-orders behind Call of Duty: Black Ops II (PS3) the previous week. When you add in the PlayStation 4 version of Call of Duty: Ghosts the two versions are on par with Call of Duty: Black Ops II. At 12 weeks before release it is 24,000 pre-orders behind. The game is 11 weeks away from launch in the USA, November 5, 2013.
Notable mentions: Pokémon X/Y (3DS) added 9,705 pre-orders for a total of 224,901. Batman: Arkham Origins (X360) added 6,341 pre-orders for a total of 82,734. Batman: Arkham Origins (PS3) added 10,019 pre-orders for a total of 82,330.
Requests: Destiny (X360) added 418 pre-orders for a total of 40,335. Watch Dogs (X360) added 1,588 pre-orders for a total of 38,620. Gran Turismo 6 (PS3) added 2,179 pre-orders for a total of 35,311.

This is a bit sad, after Madden not only is the top 10 pretty much all shooters, it's mostly just different versions of the same 3 games. GTA, CoD, and Battlefield. Decembers list is going to be a whole lot different looking
