Sega Among 20 Companies Interested in Buying Atlus Parent Company - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 05 August 2013 / 4,341 Views

There are reports that 20 companies have shown interest in buying Atlus parent company Index Holding. Sega Sammy is one of the known companies. The news comes from Bloomberg Japan and translated by Gematsu.

Bids have already surpassed what was originally expected by 5 billion yen ($50.7 million). The highest bid so far has reached 20 billion yen ($202.8 million). The plan is to narrow down the number of candidates as early as next week and to sell the company by the end of August.

Sega is already publishing Atlus games in Japan, so hearing they are one of the bidders is not a surprise. Stay tuned as more news comes in throughout the month.
