Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Averages 50K Sold Each Week

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has been selling between 40,000 and 60,000 units every week. Gamasutra columnist Ryan Langley has received data from Mojang that the Xbox Live Arcade version of Minecraft has sold 4,476,904 units at the end of November.

The game was only topped by Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Halo 4 as the most played Xbox Live game. The game passed four million units sold at the end of September and when it was first released it smashed the record for quickest XBLA game to one million units sold.

The PC version of the game sold 8.24 million units to date according to the games official website.

and made some great money for microsoft by going with them, considering you need to pay for an xbox live gold account to play this online and this game, Halo and cawadooty are the 3 main reasons people buying Live time atm.
