USA Preorders Chart, 17 November 2012 - Hitman, New Super Mario Bros U

Overview

There are six games in the top 20 to be in its final week before launch, Hitman: Absolution for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, New Super Mario Bros. U (WiiU), Persona 4: The Golden (PSV),  Assassin’s Creed III (PC), PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (PS3), and Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two (Wii). As a reminder the Pro data is back up, which means that I am taking requests again for games outside the top 20.

No games have 200,000 or more pre-orders, and the top eight has 100,000 or more pre-orders, down from nine last week. One game added 20,000 or more, down from three last week and nine added 10,000 or more, up from seven last week.

Games in Final Week Before Launch

Hitman: Absolution (X360) added 18,708 pre-orders for a grand total of 176,650. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 225,000 to 300,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 0.8 million and 1.2 million units lifetime in the US.

Hitman: Absolution (PS3) added 16,287 pre-orders for a final total of 154,224. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 200,000 to 275,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 600,000 and 800,000 units lifetime in the US.

New Super Mario Bros. U (WiiU) added 31,237 pre-orders for a grand total of 114,207. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 150,000 to 250,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 10 million and 12 million units lifetime in the US.

Persona 4: The Golden (PSV) added 10,139 pre-orders for a grand total of 114,201. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 140,000 to 180,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 300,000 and 400,000 units lifetime in the US.

Assassin’s Creed III (PC) added 8,228 pre-orders for a grand total of 111,331. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 150,000 to 200,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 350,000 and 450,000 units lifetime in the US.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (PS3) added 16,145 pre-orders for a grand total of 78,814. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 150,000 to 200,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 500,000 and 800,000 units lifetime in the US.

Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two (Wii) added 15,212 pre-orders for a grand total of 56,934. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 80,000 to 140,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 300,000 and 400,000 units lifetime in the US.

Major Performers in the U.S. – Week Ending November 24

Call of Duty: Black Ops II (X360) sales are expected to drop to around 625,000 units in its second week on sale. The PlayStation 3 version is expected to drop to around 375,000 units. The PC version is expected to drop to around 35,000 units.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS) sales are expected to drop to around 40,000 units in its second week on sale.

Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified (PSV) sales are expected to drop to around 20,000 units in its second week on sale.

Overall hardware sales are expected to double for next week in the US due to Black Friday.

Other Hot Games

Bioshock Infinite (X360) has made it to the top of the charts. The Game added 8,493 pre-orders, down from 9,287 last week, for a total of 188,115. Bioshock Infinite (PS3) added 6,016 pre-orders, up from 5,647 last week, for a total of 114,508. The game is 15 weeks away from launch in the USA, February 26, 2013.

God of War: Ascension (PS3) added 7,220 pre-orders, up from 6,417 last week, for a total of 90,055. The game is 17 weeks away from launch in the USA, March 12, 2013.

Notable mentions: Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon (3DS) added 3,356 pre-orders for a total of 144,952. Far Cry 3 (X360) added 8,261 pre-orders for a total of 99,973. StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm (PC) added 15,972 pre-orders for a total of 66,172.

Requests: Pikmin 3 (WiiU) added 2,704 pre-orders for a total of 18,612. Killzone: Mercenary (PSV) entered the charts this week with 518 pre-orders. Soul Sacrifice which has been requested is not in the charts right now.

Persona 4 Golden is pretty impressive to be honest, and I REALLY hope Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale can sell between 200-300k in its first week, I guess all we can do is wait and see.

Mass Effect 3, XenoBlade Chronicles, and The Last Story say hello. I think XenoBlade deserves the win for RPG of the year, it may be the best RPG this gen.
