Owners of the Switch version of Cities: Skylines will be eligible to purchase the Switch 2 version at a 70 percent discount through April 28, 2027.
The Switch 2 version features improved visuals, better performance, expanded building tools, and new ways to play.
Two new content packs and a radio station will release on October 28 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions of Cities: Skylines and Cities: Skylines – Remastered.

Cities: Skylines – Expanded Edition for Switch 2
Optimized and expanded for Nintendo Switch 2, Cities: Skylines – Expanded Edition invites players to build, manage, and expand the city of their dreams. - Graphics Options – Choose between a Performance Option targeting 60 frames per second with upscaling and adjusted quality settings, or a Quality Option targeting 30 frames per second and prioritizing visual fidelity.
- Keyboard and Mouse Support – Build with keyboard and mouse input alongside traditional controller configurations.
- 10 Downloadable Content Expansions and Content Packs Included – Expand your city with a collection of additional content included in the Expanded Edition, from the “After Dark,” “Snowfall,” “Green Cities,” and “Sunset Harbor” expansions to “Map Pack 3,” “Country Road,” “Pearls from the East,” “Deep Focus Radio,” “Carols, Candles & Candy,” and “Match Day.”
Players who already own Cities: Skylines on Nintendo Switch are eligible for a 70 percent loyalty discount on the Expanded Edition, valid from October 28, 2026 to April 28, 2027.

Whilst I'm grateful and have been wanting a switch 2 version, I'm incredibly disappointed at the lack of disasters again.
Considering the difficulties of getting the sequel to even the more powerful consoles, I think this makes perfect sense. At best, Cities: Skylines II is probably years away from Switch 2, if they ever manage to get it to a state where Switch 2 could run it, so this is the next best thing for Switch 2 owners.
