Former Mafia, Operation Flashpoint Devs Form Warhorse - News
by VGChartz Staff , posted on 26 July 2011 / 2,405 ViewsMafia and Mafia II creator Daniel Vávra and former Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising developer Martin Klíma have formed a new independent game studio called Warhorse.
Also working with Vávra and Klíma are designer and screenwriter Viktor Bocan and animator and CG/FX specialist Zbynek Trávnivký. The four claim that their past games have sold over 11 million copies, with an average of 1+ millon copies sold per game, and have won multiple Game of the Year awards.
"There is a common thread running through our previous games: open worlds, strong storyline and, last but not least, realistic design," Warhorse writes on its official website. "We can proudly say that the games Mafia and Operation Flashpoint were the vanguard of this approach and millions of players worldwide clearly share our view. Even if our new project is different in many respects, it is a game that is not going to disappoint fans of open realistic worlds and quality stories. We are positive we are not making this game for ourselves only but for you as well."
The Prague-based studio's current project is an unannounced RPG title.
