In a slow week in term of sales, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix topped the charts last week in Japan selling 77,317 units, in second place was Monster Hunter with 43,196 units. The newcomers to the top 20 were: Kaiju Busters Powered (DS), Venus & Braves (PSP), and Love Zombie (DS).

Here's the top 20 covering 1/17 to 1/23:

In the hardware side, the PSP returned to the first place, while DS sales kept declining; most likely due to the 3DS's upcoming release next month. But in general all consoles except for the PSP were in the negative percentage wise, this week.

I don't get it. PS3 9K over Wii yet not a single PS3 game in top 20, Wii has a bunch of titles in top 20 yet is selling almost like PS3 was selling pre-slim.

used game sales for ps3 in japan are huge thats why there is no software and heaps of hardware final fantasy 13 is still in the top 4 for used game sales according to comg but dropped out after like 4 weeks for new games sales. i reckon if used sales were counted ff 13 wouldnt hit like 2.7 million in japan by now

nice hardware sales for ps3 but crappy software sales and poor xbox why don't people like xbox in japan are they seriously that racist i'm not saying it should outsell ps3 or wii but it should at least manage to tripple a 11 year old console!
