Arc System Works in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu have announced a new 3D Double Dragon game, titled Double Dragon Revive, for the PlayStation 5Xbox Series X|SPlayStation 4Xbox One, and PC. It will launch in 2025.

The magazine says Double Dragon Revive will faithfully recreate the action of the original side-scrolling titles and it will recreate the characters in 3D.

I’m a big fan of Street Gangs and Double Dragon. Too bad it’s not on Switch. I’ll have to pass on it.

It’s a shame, because this would be a good gap for me for this kind of game as it’s a fairly quiet year before the Switch 2 storm.
Oh well.

The modernized character designs actually look pretty good. The only issue I see is that those more modern graphics can make it feel a bit like one of those cheap Steam games with pre-bought assets. We'll see! I'm a fan of beat 'em ups and couch co-op gaming in general so I'll support it if the gameplay vids make it look good.
