The charts include comparisons between the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, as well as with older platforms. There are articles based on our worldwide estimates, as well as the US, Europe, and Japan.

This monthly series compares the aligned US sales of the Nintendo Switch and the Xbox 360.

The Xbox 360 launched in the US in November 2005, while the Nintendo Switch launched in March 2017. Therefore, the holiday periods for the two consoles do not lineup, which is why there are big increases and decreases.

February 2022 is the 60th month that the Nintendo Switch has been available for in the US. During the latest month, the Switch has grown its lead over the Xbox 360 when you align the launches by 38,112 units. In the last 12 months, the Switch has outsold the Xbox 360 by 2.04 million units. The Switch is currently ahead of the Xbox 360 by 13.29 million units.

The 60th month for the Nintendo Switch is February 2022 and for the Xbox 360 it is October 2010. The Switch has sold 35.03 million units, while the Xbox 360 sold 21.74 million units during the same timeframe. The Xbox 360 sold current Switch sales in month 81.

The Xbox 360 sold 45.14 million units in the US during its lifetime. The Switch needs to sell another 10.11 million units to outsell the Xbox 360.

the switch will end up being ahead several million units at the end!

The 360 has one more Kinect boost left it looks like, but I think the switch will eventually pass it. Which is honestly a huge deal, the 360 was a massive success in the US

X360 hasn't reached the half of its lifetime. X360's strongest holiday seasons lie ahead. I expect a trend reversal in the gap chart. The battle could end up closer than many people expect.

360 will start closing the gap soon, however, Switch will have enough momentum to end up 3-5 milliom ahead.
