Xbox Website Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Original Xbox Design - News

Microsoft has update the official Xbox website in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Xbox. The new design for the website is inspired by the original Xbox.

The website was updated in mid-October with a throwback to the original Xbox 360 "blades" dashboard. The "blades" dashboard launched alongside the Xbox 360 in November 2005 and was replaced three years later with the "New Xbox Experience" dashboard.

Microsoft is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Xbox with a special broadcast on November 15 celebrating the 20th anniversary of Xbox and Halo at 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET / 5:00 pm GMT. You will be able to watch it on YouTubeTwitchTwitter, and Facebook.

No new games will be announced during the broadcast, however, there will be special look back at the 20 year history of Xbox.

The original Xbox and Halo: Combat Evolved released on November 15, 2001.

Can't believe the X box is 20 years old. It's almost old enough to be legal in all states in America ?

America = United States

It's the only country in the Americas with "America" in the name. Also, America isn't used to identify a continent.

The term America (or the Americas) refers to all the lands in the Western Hemisphere, comprising the continents of North America and South America. (Central America is actually part of the North American continent.) The United States of America, or U.S.A., is a country in North America. However, when people use the singular term America (or American) they’re almost always referring to the U.S.A.

I would say using America to refer to the whole land mass is antiquated at this point. Especially when the super power of the Americas is the only country with America in the name. Take that fact away and people wouldn't call it America.

No new games will be announced is not the same as announcing old games being added to the backwards compatible catalogue, so there's still hope for that at least! :)

That's the kind of wishful thinking I like! Although its kinda weird to do a program and not having some content to push.

Well, if they announce new backwards compatible titles, and that they're also all for sale on Xbox Live, and some/all are also added to Game Pass, that would be new content to push despite none of them being new games. It would push game sales and Game Pass subscriptions. And since this is about nostalgia and celebrating 20 years of Xbox, re-adding old games to the service actually makes more sense than pushing new games.
