Nintendo is reportedly working to add Game Boy and Game Boy Color games to its Nintendo Switch Online service "really soon," according to a report released earlier this week from sources and insider NateDrake.

A second report from Eurogamer has corroborated these reports and stated other retro platforms are on the table to be added to Nintendo Switch Online.

Nintendo Switch Online released in September 2018 and included 20 NES games at launch. Since its launch Nintendo has continued to add more NES games, as well as several SNES games starting in September 2019. There are now 88 NES and 56 SNES games playable on Nintendo Switch Online.

Nintendo Switch owners have been asking Nintendo to add games from more platforms like the Nintendo 64 and GameCube.

Just wait and see how the Gen 1 and 2 Pokémon games are sold separately from this service. GF and Nintendo won't miss the oportunity to sell them yet again.

Just forget about all the final fantasies. SE is already taking Care of remaking them so they won't let Nintendo make profits out of them. This Can be extended to all major third parties. The pokémon games have decent chances to be sold seperately.
So what's left?
I still insist on the fact that replacing the virtual console was really a Bad move. Game boy games alone is so little as an addition. We'll be having the same situation as the NES/SNES games on NSO, once the first party releases are done they'll be serving us games from the dust that no one Heard of. And this Time it might happen really quickly.

If this materializes, I want Kirby’s Dreamland 1 and 2 among the first games out for it.

The Pokémon games, Tetris, the Final Fantasy Legends, and Mystic Quest already have ports/remakes on the Switch. Metroid 2, but I’d prefer they port up the 3DS game.

How many people want to play Gameboy games, especially those without color, these days? Some of the games were cool for their time. But, Gameboy is a very primitive system that really doesn't hold up well, IMO.

I know the idea is popular among people in gaming forums like this one. But, I just can't see it appealing to much of the general gaming population.

Hopefully they'll be made available as standalone purchases too, I'm definitely not paying a subscription for them,
