Nintendo: No Plans to Launch Any Other Switch Models Outside of OLED - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 06 August 2021 / 1,501 ViewsNintendo usually doesn't respond to rumors or reports, however, they did just that earlier today.
Bloomberg last week said the Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) would have a higher profit margin compared to the original Switch model.
Nintendo via Twitter said "the claim is incorrect" and added the company has "no plans" to launch any other Switch model outside of the already OLED model.
"A news report on July 15, 2021(JST) claimed that the profit margin of the Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) would increase compared to the Nintendo Switch," Nintendo said via Twitter. "To ensure correct understanding among our investors and customers, we want to make clear that the claim is incorrect.
"We also want to clarify that we just announced that Nintendo Switch(OLED Model) will launch in October, 2021, and have no plans for launching any other model at this time."
The Nintendo Switch(OLED Model) launches on October 8 for $349.99. The original Switch model is priced at $299.99, while the Switch Lite is priced at $199.99.
We also want to clarify that we just announced that Nintendo Switch(OLED Model) will launch in October, 2021, and have no plans for launching any other model at this time. (2/2)

It really doesn't matter what they say, there will still be 'insiders' who will claim to know better.
And People will still believe those insiders and get angry at Nintendo when rumors don't meet reality.
Just keep in mind that a few months ago Nintendo said they weren't releasing a new Switch device "anytime soon". - And just a few months later the OLED variant got announced.
Companies say all sorts of things to save face.
Microsoft said they weren't going to do a Halo 2 anniversary... And we ended up with that in MCC.
I guess you're talking about that time when they were asked about the Switch Pro and they said that they won't release a new Switch model anytime soon. https://gamerant.com/nintendo-super-switch-pro-when/ That article is from february 2021. Fast forward to today and well, they really don't release a Switch Pro, so they weren't lying. Of course we can argue about the term 'model' and yes, I too can see how ambiguous that is, so now after they've clarified the situation (see: this news article) I think we can safely say that there really won't be a Switch Pro and some rumor spreaders are either trolls or attention whores or both.
I would do well to just accept that Nintendo isn't going to boost the switch in anyway until a successor some years from now.
waiting for the next generation then... maybe in 3 years from now? hope Nintendo will finally invest in some powerful hardware.
People will be disappointed with this one hahaha
Switch will sell very good (20M+) next year and still good (12M+) in 2023. I expect a powerful successor in 2024.
"at this time"
Yup this tells us nothing. Only that there isn't another model right around the corner which was obvious.
So, Nintendo's saying there's a chance? :P
