Stadia is 'Alive and Well,' Says Google - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 02 June 2021 / 2,097 ViewsGoogle's cloud streaming service, Stadia, hasn't been a huge success for the company as Google closed its first-party studios and Stadia's head of product departed.
Stadia’s product marketing lead Nate Ahearn told GamesIndustry in an interview the platform is "alive and well."
"We're well on our way to over 100 new games launching on Stadia in 2021, and we're continuing to make Stadia a great place to play games on devices you already own," said Ahearn.
"I'd tell any non-believers to take notice of how we're continuing to put our words into action, as we grow the Stadia Makers program and partner with AAA studios like Capcom, EA, Square Enix, Ubisoft, and others."
He added that Google was "focused on delivering value for our partners and on behalf of our players."
He mentioned newer titles coming to the service like Resident Evil Village and the introduction of other older AAA titles like Resident Evil VII and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order on the Stadia Pro subscription.
Ahearn mentioned that despite the closure of Google's first-party studios they aren't putting pressure on the indie studios they work with in the Stadia Makers program.
"We're not shifting pressure onto the independent studios we work with in Stadia Makers," he added. "The whole point of the program is to support their addition of Stadia as a launch platform for their game, not add any pressure or make anything harder for them."

Closing studios and cancelling games is a great way to show Stadia is here to stay.
I'm struggling to thing something that Stadia hasn't fucked up at this point.
Nate Ahearn: "Google Stadia is alive and well"
Narrator's Voice: "But Google Stadia was not alive and well..."
Amid growing concern about the wellbeing of Stadia a Google rep today stated, we don't usually respond to fear mongering but I like to assure you Stadia is alive and well in intensive care, and unlike previous projects Stadia won't be subjected to the need to be euthanised , something that was solely brought about by the actions of incompetent medical staff, but on a more positive note
the result is we are out of terminal medication so we can now ensure Stadia will have a long and fulfilling life .

I don’t think that it is a success or that Google will keep it for long.
Agreed
"I'd tell any non-believers to take notice of how we're continuing to put our words into action, as we..." shut down our own first party studio without creating a single game for our own platform.
If you have to say a product is alive and well... it isn’t.
Yes clearly.
killedbygoogle.com beckons...
lol
Yeah, I don't believe them for one second.
keep telling urself that haha R.I.P STADIA
Nice try Google, the court documents exposed you that you've scaled back Stadia considerably.
Yes I believe they are alive and well when they close everything sure.... way to put words into actions...
And well RE VIII going to Stadia pretty much deny that silly rumour that was on the RE 8 thread.
even if you consider posting on VGChartz to be your only social activity you are indeed doing better than Stadia.
Did you see the part where he mentions RE 8 coming to Stadia? Which denies that rumour you posted about Sony paying for it to not appear on GP, Stadia and similar services?
And what would prevent it from being on Stadia Pro?
You know it doesnt make much sense that they exclude Xcloud , but don
t exclude regular Stadia, plus how would you play it in Stadia but not play on Pro? Same with Xbox, if there is any multiplayer component will it be blocked to MS because of no to Gold? Because the language say about being in a platform not only giving for free. It even list PS+ on the block to any competition subscription service. The wording seems to poor for a real contract between parties.
Nope not confusing. You need to to subscribe to Stadia Pro to have the best version of the game to play, be it free or not, Unless they changed, on the free version your maximum resolution was quite lower. For XCloud I wasn't sure if there is any option that would be just the streaming without the game being gifted. But if as you said it can only be for GP games then ok. Still do you agree that instead than putting the game can't be on subscription services that compete with PS+ (that is what is written) it would make a whole lot more sense to say the games can't be gifted or similar wording?
And they don`t say Games With Gold, it says Xbox Live Gold. That is why I say the wording is quite poor and unclear to be a contract.
Another page of the leak say the beta would need to be at least a week earlier on Playstation, did that occur?
