Sony Will Provide a New Date for the PS5 Reveal Event 'Soon' - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 04 June 2020 / 2,396 ViewsSony Interactive Entertainment was originally planning a PlayStation 5 reveal event that was going to be just over an hour today, June 4, however, earlier this week they postponed the event with no new date. It was postponed due to current events with widespread protests across the US and even the world following the death of George Floyd.
Sony has updated the description of the announcement video for the PS5 reveal event saying "this event has been postponed. We'll be in touch with a new date soon."
While saying "soon" isn't very specific it does mean Sony plans to hold the event as soon as possible. However, current events do take priority over gaming events. Many gaming events planned for this week have been postponed. This includes IGN Summer of Gaming 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 presentation, PC Gaming Show 2020, and Future Games Show 2020.
