Xbox Series X Will Launch in Japan in Holiday 2020

Xbox Series X Will Launch in Japan in Holiday 2020 - News

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer recently stated team Xbox is committed to a worldwide launch of the Xbox Series X.

"In our supply chain, we feel good about the hardware side," said Spencer at the time. "Feels like we’ll be able to get enough units. And you know, we’re pretty committed, as we’ve talked about to a worldwide launch, which regretfully, we didn’t do with Xbox One."

Microsoft Japan has now told Famitsu the Xbox Series X will launch in Japan as part of its simultaneous worldwide launch in Holiday 2020.

This is very different from the Xbox One, which launched in Japan on September 4, 2014, a full 10 months after it launched in North America and Europe on November 22, 2013.

Confirmed Xbox Series X for launch in Japan includes Halo Infinite, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Scarlet Nexus, and Bright Memory: Infinite. The release of Yakuza: Like a Dragon for the Xbox Series X in Japan has not been scheduled yet.

I'm sure Microsoft can spare 20K units for the Japanese launch. Should last the country about a year.

Lawson's might actually have two people at a time lined up to pick one up. How will they handle the influx?

Just give up, good lord. I feel like they'll spend more money in marketing and getting the damn thing over there than they will make back. I don't think Microsoft has given Japan any more reason to be interested than the Xbox One, and I don't imagine enthusiasm has grown at all since the pique of their interest in the Xbox family. PlayStation and Switch have comfortably seated themselves as the consoles they go for and I don't think there's a gap in the market at all to fill.

Xbox is that confident on a 2020 japan release probably means a japan studio is working on something for it. Well good luck, anticipating around 5k week one.

When they said they would launch worldwide they already announced Japan, so pointless news.

They just had to remind everybody, "Hey, we still exist in Japan!"

I don't think it is that, it is more likely that several news made of the same topic because of lack of news and also need to be on people mind.
