Pokémon GO was the highest earning mobile game in August 2019 generating $176 million in revenue, according to a report from research firm SuperData.

August 2019 was the best month for the game in terms of revenue since it peaked in 2016. The increase in revenue was due to a numerous amount of in-game events held by Niantic. 


Pokémon GO is available as a free-to-play title on iOS and Android.

It really is down to you as a player. A colleague at work got me back into it a few months ago having initially dropped a few months after it launched.
To this day I still haven't spent a penny on it.

One month for Pokemon Go, which I haven't heard mentioned in my bubble in quite some time, and it pushes $176 million in revenue. If I did my math right, then a $59.99 game would need to sell three million copies to have that revenue just for one month.
