Nintendo has revealed its lineup for Gamescom 2019, which takes place from August 20 to 24 in Cologne, Germany.

On top of bringing a host of upcoming playable Nintendo Switch titles to Gamescom in Cologne, Germany from Tuesday, August 20, Nintendo will also give fans around the world a series of in-depth looks at several already-announced titles launching in 2019, including Luigi’s Mansion 3Astral Chain, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

Gameplay Demonstrations:

In a series of videos to be published from August 20 to 22, Nintendo of Europe product experts will showcase new gameplay from the following Nintendo Switch titles:

  • Luigi’s Mansion 3
  • The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
  • Astral Chain
  • Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition
  • Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020
  • The Witcher III: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition

Fans should keep an eye on this page throughout the week of Gamescom to watch the videos.

Playable Titles:

Meanwhile, visitors to Nintendo’s booth in Hall 9 at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany from Tuesday, August 20 to Saturday, August 24 will be able to go hands-on with a range of upcoming games coming to Nintendo Switch in 2019, including:

  • Luigi’s Mansion 3
  • The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
  • Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield
  • Daemon X Machina
  • Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition
  • The Witcher III: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition

All titles will be playable on the flagship Nintendo Switch console.

Tournaments:

Whether visiting in-person or watching from home, fans of competitive Super Smash Bros. Ultimate action are in for a treat, as invited players from last season’s Smash Ball Team Cup will compete in the one-off Nintendo Live: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Gamescom 2019 Invitational on Thursday, August 22. The victorious players will fly to Japan for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Challenge Cup, held at the Nintendo Live event in Kyoto on October 14, and compete as a European squad against qualified teams from Japan and North America, as well as a multi-national team of top players, in a special gala tournament. Fans will be able to get involved by nominating the players they’d like to see compete at Gamescom. The Nintendo Live: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Gamescom 2019 Invitational, happening live in the afternoon of Thursday, August 22, will be live streamed in English on the Nintendo UK YouTube channel. Stay tuned for further announcements.

In addition, Nintendo’s stage at Gamescom will play host to the first country qualifiers in the upcoming seasons of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate European Team Cup and Splatoon 2 European Championship, which will be live streamed in German on Friday and Saturday afternoons respectively.
