but still, even as CG it looks pretty good for a game made for a Nintendo console...

Its great to have a sequel to a incredible game. The first game has some pretty awesome worldwide sales. I predict this game will sell 1.5 million first week worlwide.

I think you guys underestimate the power of the Mario, Sonic, and Olympic brands.

4 million, with out online, good single player, depth, or quality. MP fun will be enough.

Hm, thats gonna be interesting. Liked the M&S Summer Games, and I always loved playing "winter games" games.

So what do we have without even talk about the game itself?

Mario so at worst just a million seller (see super slugs)
Sonic which adds 0,5 millions
a casual game

so lets talk about 2 million here

than add:
some hardcore-appeal with online mode
some longer single-player appeal (the first one was allright, but that could be improved, by special tournaments etc.)

The only big question is for me if it tops 5 million, because of this things:
Track&field can be done by everyone, everywhere; winter games are more popular in cold regions
well, I thought and I found no other reasons.

btw.: trailer graphics do look great, but anyway it won't matter at all, if it would even look like the first one.

Its Mario, its Sonic, its casual, its 100% suitable for kids, mommys will buy it, daddys will buy it, any relative will buy it, and all the 8-14 olds will be fairly happy with it and get the ones above to buy it.

^^ well, first off, casual games get announced fairly early, they just don't make any headlines on game sites so you never see them. Second off, the Olympic committee (or whoever is in charge of licensing) leaked the information already, so Sega may have decided just to announce it anyways.

In Shaun White, you play with 1 person on the balance board, and 2 others with Wii Remotes only, so 3 people at once can play. Also, you could do hot seat competitions, as that is more in line with winter sports.

So far Sega has announced Balance Board support. Let's see if the other things happen. If it has 2 of those things I'll buy it used, 3 of them I'll buy it new, and if it has all 4 then I'll buy it day 1.
