Ark: Survival Evolved Sells 5.5M Units on Xbox One and PC - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 04 August 2016 / 8,306 ViewsStudio Wildcard announced Ark: Survival Evolved has sold over 5.5 million unit since its release in June 2015. Breaking the sales down, the Xbox One version sold 1.5 million units, while the PC version sold four million units.
"[Our first year] has gone very well," the co-founder of developer Studio Wildcard Jeremy Stieglitz told MCVUK. "The launch was an unexpected success, but that’s also a double edged sword because when it succeeds at that level, it kind of raises expectations about how ambitious the game is going to be, and how large of a scope it is going to have when it is finished.

"We have especially blown the doors open on what we had originally planned in terms of number of creatures, features and technical complexity. When we launched we didn’t even plan on having modding support, which has become a huge aspect of the game’s appeal and life cycle on PC.
"It’s been interesting to raise ourselves and our level of work to the expectations that this very large audience now has."

Considering how Wildcard treated the community/handled feedback, this is well deserved.
I had a ton of fun with this game on the PC, had a server my friends and I played on. Personally my favorite thing was massive building projects heh
Tried out the PC version. Its a decent rump. Congrats for the developer :-)
Excellent sales. Big indie hit.
