Uncharted 4 Creative Director: People will Argue Over the Ending - News

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End releases next month and creative director Neil Druckmann has gotten some feedback over the ending of the game.

"I think people will discuss the ending," Druckmann told IGN. "If focus tests are anything to go by, there will be some arguments about the ending," he told IGN during a recent A Thief's End gameplay event. "I'm excited. Indifference would be the worst thing. I would rather have people hate it than be indifferent to it. We'll see how they react."

Druckmann was asked if Nathan Drake was heading toward a final end and he replied "Do you really want me to tell you? You don't really want me to tell you."

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End releases worldwide on May 10th for the PlayStation 4.

Looks like they are trying to repeat The Last of Us success. I bet Nathan dies.

I don't think that would be a controversial ending though so it's gotta be something bigger or to do with the overall story of the game itself.

I'd lean more towards expecting it to be ambiguous whether or not Drake dies. Think along the lines of Dark Knight Rises and the disagreements people had on the final scene with Alfred.

Hopefully not a vague ending, I hate those.

Sounds like they're gonna give it a vague ending where you're not quite sure which outcome is canon. Will be interesting to see.

They also argued about ME3 ending, but not in a good was. So please ND don't make a semi open ending. Killing or a retiring Nathan Drake is a nice ending for the series.

I'd personally prefer a clear, final "retirement" ending. If Naughty Dog ever decided to revisit the franchise a decade or two from now, they could have a new character with Drake taking on Sullivan's role. ;)
