Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow Announced for 3DS Virtual Console - News

by Evan Norris , posted on 12 November 2015 / 4,576 Views

The Pokemon games that started it all - Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow - are coming to the 3DS Virtual Console as digital downloads.

Pokemon eShop

All three games will remain faithful to the original versions, with one important difference: trading and battling, formerly achieved via Link Cable, will work via wireless connection.

Each game will launch on the eShop on February 27, 2016, 20 years to the day after the original Japanese launch of Pokemon Red.

Was hoping for a 3D remake of one of them. Oh well. I'm sure they're planning something nice for the next Pokemon game.

I think you'll find the Pokemon games that started it all in 1996 were Red and Green, not Red and Blue. Definitely not yellow tho, that game is only 15 years old here in EU or 17 in JP where it launched first.

This is excellent news. Now if they do this for the other series including the remakes I can then die happy.
