Minecraft continues to dominate gaming on YouTube in terms of views, according to a report released by Newzoo. It accounted for 34 percent of the views of the top 20 most popular franchises with 3.9 billion views last month.

Overall, the top 20 franchises had 11.5 billion views in April. That is down from 12.3 billion views in March. This is the first time since Newzoo has been reporting YouTube views that there was a drop month-over-month. 98.2 percent of video views were made by fans.

Grand Theft Auto was the second biggest franchise with 1.39 billion views and 12 percent of the views. Five Nights at Freddy's was third with 1.17 billion views and 10 percent of the views.

Mortal Kombat X helped drive the franchise up nine spots in April with a 170 percent increase month-over-month.
