by William D'Angelo , posted on 05 December 2014 / 11,540 ViewsThis week Sony has been celebrating the 20th anniversary of the PlayStation with releasing a PSOne inspired PlayStation 4 and many games have been on sale for the PlayStation Network.
The PlayStation 4 Black Friday week sales are out now. The PS4 had a strong Black Friday week in the US selling 554,350 units for the week ending November 29, 2014, according to VGChartz.
To compare, this is well above anything the PlayStation 3 managed to sell Black Friday week in the US in its lifetime. The PlayStation 3's strongest Black Friday week in the US was in 2009 where it sold 417,864 units.

You know when you put the numbers side by side to the previous generation, it really gives you a perspective of how well the systems really did this week. The numbers are pretty insane. PS4 already did better then PS3's best year, I can't imagine what it will be doing a year or 2 from now when it picks up even more traction do to more games.
The PS4 is a beast, which could sell over 150 million with the right games. 2015 Q1 is already looking to be massive and the PS4 will absolutely destroy the competition during that period. It's undoubtedly going to become the second best selling PlayStation system and it might beat the PS2 if the gen is long enough.
Impressive numbers. Imagine if they made a pricecut.
Without a $170 price cut
Sold near XB1 without much incentives (just bundles) in a country that used to be ALL about XB. Crazy how one generation can change so much.
I expected it to get 1 million but this is still rather good.
Great numbers.
I wonder why Sony don't try to beat Microsoft with a pricecut? Thy could have tried to keep the sales of Microsoft low to get exclusives by low.
