Microsoft: Xbox 360 Shipments Reach 80 Million - News

The Xbox 360 has been on the market just under eight years. The console launched in November 2005 and has since shipped 80 million units to retail, according to Microsoft in its latest NPD sales report. This is a huge improvement over the original Xbox which sold 24.65 million units.
"This month, Xbox 360 reached 80 million consoles sold to retailers worldwide and maintained its lead as the number one selling console in the U.S. in 2013."
September 2013 was also the biggest September software sales for the Xbox 360 as sales reached $401.2 million. The Xbox 360 has sold 1.6 million units in the US, remaining the "number one selling console in the U.S. in 2013."
Microsoft has also stated that pre-orders for the Xbox One is selling out faster than any other Xbox and it continues to outpace the Xbox 360 at the same time period.

Your looking at 450 million units of software sold versus this year versus this articles $401 million dollars figure. And the $401m is September only.

Xbox one will be nothing but a #2 all generation in ALL territories. And Rightfully so.
My only beef is that the gaming industry didn't backlash at M$ over all the other past scams M$ has done (1) Halo 2 on PC Vista only (2) Service/support/games on orig. Xbox (3) Rushed & RROD to gain marketshare (4) Paywall basic features like browser & streaming services (5) Worthless xbox live subscription - you don't get anything for the "subscription" (6) What they tried to implement on X1 (7) No games on 360 the last 4 years in a row due to greedy M$ raking in 2.75 billion per year from XBL + revenue from ads on your home page.

BTW PS3 has "sold" more than 80 Million not just shipped

BTW PS3 just outsold 360 in it's last remaining strong hold...the United States.

PS3 has sold a few million more this year so far than 360
And
PS3 has sold over 10 million more software units this year so far.
