You were expecting this series to just go away? You thought wrong.

In the upcoming issue of the official Playstation Magazine, we will be treated to our first details of Metal Gear Solid 5 straight from the source; Hideo Kojima himself.

Hideo Kojima

Few details are known at this date, but based off the above image, it would appear as thought Solid Snake won't be coming back from the dead in this installment. All the details will be available on the 29th.

Are you excited for Metal Gear Solid 5? Let us know in the comments!

HOLY CRAP! I thought Metal Gear Solid 4 was going to be his last full Metal Gear Solid game. This is amazing news, I can't wait.

Dunno how you got all those thumbs ups for such a retarded comment. You have to be pretty stupid to think Konami would let their biggest IP die.

I obviously mustn't have been the only one who thought MGS4 would be the last console MGS.

Why would I think the series was going to go away?

mizzou_guy (on 18 November 2011)

I made it all this time without having the ending of MGS4 spoiled for me, and now just a week before I was gonna start it, there it is.

o_O.Q (on 18 November 2011)

actually the ending hasn't really been spoiled

Meryl dies from syphilis and Snake turns out to be the bad guy all along.

You aren't missing much.

Here's a question, why did you wait THIS LONG to play it? i mean, I understand back-logged but seriously? Spoiler alert* SuperMario 2 was just a dream.

I'm curious, will this be a Playstation 3 exclusive? Konami isn't a first party publisher, and it seems that almost every third party publisher has gone multiplatform. Elder Scrolls 4, Bioshock, Final Fantasy XIII, Demon Souls, and others have all switched from exclusve to MP status. Even MGS Rising is MP. Will this even be a PS3 title? or an early PS4 game?

NobleTeam360 (on 19 November 2011)

yeah i was thinking next gen to

Im guessing it will be a PS3/4 exclusive! Rising is technically a brand "new" game and they decided to go multi but this is actually a MGS game which Im sure Sony is going to be all over it and they will have priority.

i'll be waiting as i am for MGR

RareglovE (on 20 November 2011)

Let me guess since MGSR is multiplatform, i suppose this next MGS5 "might" be timed exclusive. now remember its a big "might". if its PS3 exclusive, it defiantly deserves it because of "transfarring" i hope but i highly doubt it, that this next MGS game wont go over to the 360 or WII2. the SOLID series should stay true to the PS family

XiaoMay (on 18 November 2011)

Mgs4 was a NO GO...

Silver-Tiger (on 20 November 2011)

@Michael-5: If MGS Rising and the multiplatform MGS HD remixes show us anything, MGS4 was the last PS exclusive from Kojima.

invetedlotus123 (on 20 November 2011)

They need to start a new cycle in the series. With the whole Big Boss clone and Patriots stuff being just past for a long time. If they decide to mess with what is already closed it will be a disaster. But, knowing Kojima, we just don't know what to expect.

GamesBond (on 22 November 2011)

They will. They had closure in part 1 but reopened the story in MGS2 with "I LIVE ON, THROUGH THIS ARM!!!" Hideo for all his Genius might be the Japanese version of George Lucas. (I know I'll get hate for that, but seriously think about it)

The only series that can get away with such long cut-scenes... I can't wait! Well, honestly, I can and will, but, this is on my list. Hope we're not waiting until 2014, though.

NotStan (on 18 November 2011)

Spoiled. F**K.

brendude13 (on 18 November 2011)

You haven't played it already?

The best in the series is still MGS. For its COMPLETE story, trend-setting gameplay, and striking moments. Compared to MGS2's partial story with a cliff-hanger, MGS3's flashback, and MGS4's epic yet muddle storyline. MGS is an elite franchise but sometimes I wonder, considering where they have taken (and retaken) the story, maybe its best they just clear the decks and start over. Reboot the series starting with MG for the original NES. Make it epic and make it coherent.

Marco (on 18 November 2011)

MGS4 is the best game on this generation, because the story and gameplay-elements are amazing!

Dgc1808 (on 18 November 2011)

But... but... he said MGS2 was gonna be the last....
