The Guinness Book of World Records Uses VGChartz - News
by VGChartz Staff , posted on 08 January 2010 / 5,114 ViewsEarlier today, I took a stop by the local bookstore for some light reading. I saw a copy of the Guinness World Records 2010 Gamer's Edition which came out on the 5th of January. I fanned through the pages and noticed the book was filled with game sales records. Guess where the majority of the sales data comes from? You guessed it. VGChartz supplied Guinness with the sales data. Most records do not have citations, but I managed to find this near the end of the book (pictured below).
Anyway, the book is huge considering there are only video game records listed. If you love video games, you will love this book. Some of the records are really wacky and humorous, as well. Post your favorite records in the comments (If you don't have the book, go pick it up!).
Lastly, what do you guys think about trying to break a gaming record at E3 this year? Could we plant VGChartz is gaming history (probably with the help of others)? Everyone should be making their way to Los Angeles in the middle of June anyway for our VGChartz E3 party. Why not try to break a record while we are at it?

This isn't the first time this site has been in the games version of the guiness book of world records.
@Ostro
Considering this stat ignores the PC version, I doubt they have gotten much better.

Well, I guess the hate for VGChartz might start to subside. Or it just might get stronger. Either way, take that haters at IGN! HA!
