Mid-2007 was roughly the point the DS evergreen library was at its peak, especially with the Western release of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. Pokemon, Nintendogs, Brain Age, Brain Age 2, New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart DS, Animal Crossing: Wild World, and Cooking Mama each sold over 2 million copies in 2007, despite being released in 2005 and 2006. Not to mention that there was a shortage of DS Lites from its release into 2007, so there were plenty of interested customers.
Also, the R4 card came out in 2007.
