Developer: Microsoft Doesn't Seem to Have Much Interest in VR - News

Tessera Studios game designer Pablo Lafora speaking with GamingBolt says that Microsoft doesn't appear have to any interest in virtual reality and it is unlikely the next generation Xbox will feature a VR headset. He did say it is possible it will be compatible with HoloLens 2.

"No matter how much I ask, I never get any news on Microsoft VR," said Lafora. "Just some rumors about HoloLens 2. It seems like they don’t have much interest in VR. On one hand, it looks like right now they won’t include VR features on their next console. On the other hand… that sounds really risky. Maybe the next Xbox will be HoloLens 2 compatible? It might be, but we don’t think the console/marketing will make HoloLens the core of it all."

Tessera Studios is currently developing PlayStation VR horror title Intruders: Hide and Seek.

No surprise. VR has not taken off in the way many hoped/expected. There's plenty of fun/unique VR experiences out there but it's clear the medium has not reached it's full potential.

I imagine VR will have more potential when they can make it wireless and hit the $199 spot. I'm interested in the tech, but its still expensive and cumbersome.
