What does cloud version mean?
The game runs on a server and is streamed to the Switch.
Think of it like Netflix.
It should be noted that this is only in Japan.
People are going to complain, but I think this is actually a really good thing. True it's not as good as getting a real port, but that's not always going to be possible physically or financially with the hardware being what it is. I think it's better than nothing.
Exactly man, it's just more options isn't it, if people don't want to play like this that's fine, but I'm sure some of the 20m switch owners will but this kind of offering.
As opposed to Capcom and RE7, this makes sense, as the Switch could not handle a proper port. Would rather not see these type of games at all though. It seems like the easy way out.
For many games it's probably the only way out.
Out it is then. Better to go and buy a PS4 / Xbone than this.
Hmm, makes me think. First Capcom with RE7 and now Ubisoft with AssCreed. If it was the same company I would not think about it, but two different... maybe, maybe Nintendo is setting up a streaming infrastructure in Japan and is offering it to 3rd-parties. Maybe, if it works in Japan, it will be expanded worldwide.
Pso from Sega is also available for play from the cloud in Japan and is beautiful looking
lol@Cloud. the disc-version for PS4, because i like disc's with cover :) But no time in october for AC, because Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming and now i play Spiderman/Dragon Quest Xi :) Thats why.. see you 2019 @ Assassins Creed
If it works well, I'm all for it. I've heard bad things about cloud games though, so if this ends up being barely functional, I'd rather they not even try.
Means that switch owners can get games and developers dont have to worry about porting and lowering setting to fir switch hardware capabilities, and focus on games themselves. Also, switch could also receive ps5 and beyond games.
Seems to be a good compromise. 5G would help a lot on this, the future seems bright.
