Jason West Leaves Respawn Entertainment - News
by Brent Galietti , posted on 04 March 2013 / 3,819 ViewsJason West, who co-founded Respawn Entertainment along with fellow Infinity Ward alum, Vince Zampella, has reportedly left the company, according to a report from Polygon. The departure does not have anything to do with Respawn itself. Instead, it is due to undisclosed family issues.
West, along with Zampella, founded Infinity Ward in 2002. Together, they lead development on the Call of Duty series, turning it into a cultural phenomenon. The duo left in 2010 amidst controversy over Activision allegedly holding back bonus payments and West and Zampella's talks with Electronic Arts (while still under contract with Activision).
West's departure is not expected to affect what Respawn Entertainment is working on, with Polygon's sources indicating that West has not been an active participant in the company for some time. Respawn Entertainment has been largely silent since its formation in 2010, but will lift the curtain on their project at E3 this year.
