Deception IV: Blood Ties Release Date Announced for Late March - News

March was already quite packed this year for RPG fans with a new Atelier, Dark Souls 2, The Witch and the Hundred Knights, and South Park: The Stick of Truth all releasing within a span of weeks, but it looks like publishers aren't letting the flood of games scare them one bit.  Tecmo Koei announced today that Deception IV: Blood Ties will release on March 25th for NA and March 28th for Europe.

It's been quite a long time since the last installment of this trap-based Strategy RPG and I'm sure long time fans don't care what other games in the genre they have to ignore that month on their way to picking up Deception IV, but I wonder about the thought process for those who aren't.

I'll often see this happen where companies will bunch up game releases into a single month and I wonder if that's truly a better idea than spacing things out.  Then again, maybe having all these games in one month is in the hopes that it'll help get people out to stores to get games if there are multiple titles they're looking forward to, or maybe companies just don't take the release dates of other companies' games into account.  That latter explanation doesn't work here though because Tecmo Koei is actually going to compete with itself in this particular case.

Regardless of my musings on how game releases tend to come in spurts, though, I'm glad to get Deception IV: Blood Ties a little bit sooner than I had previously expected.  Here's hoping that the rest of 2014 can keep up with the sheer volume of interesting games to come out in the first few months.
