According to a handful of sources online, Crytek, the makers of Crysis and the recent Xbox exclusive Ryse, are in financial trouble, with many pundits in the industry mentioning the risk of bankruptcy.
Accoring to the reports, Ryse was a 'catastrophe' for the company, meaning the studio is extremely short on cash at the moment.
The company is reportedly close to completing a deal that would allow a cash injection into the studio, but a lot of publishers are apparently hoping for bankruptcy so that they can sign up talent and collect IPs from the company on the cheap.
