Month 5 is when the PS3 launched in the PAL regions (Europe/Australia). It would be interesting to see the comparative charts for all consoles with all regional launches aligned.

It's nice, but PS3 did launch bad so it's expected in my opinion. They should be doing this with the Vita.

PS3 sales wasn't that bad around the same life as PS4, it just didn't do as well as it could. It launched pretty poorly and other companies took the change and won people over, but it didn't stop Sony from winning people over again. All you need is quality titles. Maybe if they took noticed their PS4 and how it's doing so well then maybe they would be doing the same to the Vita.

I still find it amazing that the PS3 outsold 360 at this point in time despite all its disadvantages.

I think you mean uphill battle (year late, $600, a couple bad ports first year or so).

PS3 has always been superior to 360 in every way a person enjoys a console (power, features, quality, games, entertainment, technology, exclusive content, value)
