Welcome to the VGChartz Gap charts. The charts will be updated monthly and each article will focus on a different gap chart. The charts include comparisons between the 7th generation and 8th generation, as well as comparing the 8th generation consoles. All sales are worldwide, unless otherwise stated.
PS4 Vs. XOne Global:
Gap change in latest month: 348,270 – PS4
Gap change over last 12 months: n/a
Total Lead: 1,660,393 – PS4
PS4 Total Sales: 5,046,869
Xbox One Total Sales: 3,386,476
In January 2014 the gap between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One grew once again. The PlayStation 4 sold 348,270 more units than the Xbox One in Janaury to bring the total lead to 1,660,393 units. The PlayStation 4 has sold 5,046,869 units in three months, while the Xbox One sold 3,386,476 units.
The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One both launched in November 2013 in North America and Europe. The PlayStation 4 launched on November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe. The Xbox One launched on November 22 in North America and Europe.

That PS4 domination.
At Least now we know that a head to head launch is no good for MS. They need to launch ahead of PS or come in significantly more affordable. Dont know how they are going o turn this around.
I think lost planet 1 is still exclusive to the Xbox360? only the second one came out on the PS3 I think.... or... maybe there was a special ed of the first which came out way later?
Titanfall of course, it's Xb one exclusive don't you know? 360 and PC versions are a myth.
@Michael-5 good IP can only make a difference if PS4 has no good IP. I think PS4 will be able to match Xb one for good IP.
Blowing the One out of the water and we have yet to see the Japanese launch... This is gonna get out of hand fast.
This just tells me that PS is cannibalizing xbox.
Cannibalizing would imply that xbox was the same as playstation. PS4 is cannibalizing PS3, though not much. The term you're searching for is predation. PS4 is preying upon Xbox like a hawk upon a scared little fieldmouse.
The X1 cant be compared to a field mouse .... have you seen that thing? tis huge

every time they show a gif or screen shot of the order's main characters Coat the gap gets 5k wider.
Yeah, it'll be a 2 million lead after February, thanks to Japan. Maybe 2.25 mil or even more once you add all regions.

Feb should increase significantly.. only a few days until launch.. going to be interesting to see the photo's and see if there are any queues. In Japan they seem to have gone off the boil in terms of queuing for consoles..

Price cut, or model without kinect guys seriously.... I'm not buying one until it's $399 or less, and they better have the white model out by the time that happens lol
