Facepunch Studios, the studio that developed Garry's Mod, latest release, Rust, has sold more than one million units since it released on December 11. The game is still in the alpha stage and in just a month it has equaled about 40 percent of the profit Garry's Mod has done in nine years.

"Yeah - we never, ever expected anything to dwarf GMod's success," said developer Garry Newman. "I did some rough maths this morning: in terms of profits, from sales and royalties, in a month Rust has made about 40 per cent of what GMod has made in about nine years. We can't really believe it."

On Christmas Eve Garry Newman tweeted that Rust almost made $3 million in its first two weeks. He has also stated that there are no plans on increasing the price of the game.

The minimum requirements are seriously nothing for this game. A toaster could probably run it.

I hope that the game does eventually move to consoles in the future. It would be nice, for those that doesn't have a PC powerful enough to play the game.
